Stupid rain
I was going to walk the 8 km to work today but it started raining like crazy when I had walked about 1 km. I waited for a while to see if it would stop but eventually had to take the metro! Annoyed now as I could've just stayed at home and gotten some things done...

A Sunday walk
Went out for a 2 hour walk with my sister earlier. I'm trying to see my friends and family as much as I can before I move :)

Well at least I went out there
The fact that I go for a run but end up eating raspberries in the woods says a lot about my self-discipline....

Nice weekend at home
It is so nice to be off for a whole weekend and not travel anywhere! Today I'm cleaning the apartment and I already started putting some things away for when I move. Mikaela is renting my apartment so I can't really have all my things out everywhere. And I thought I might as well start now since August will probably be a busy month with work, planning and packing, and also Andy's visiting for a week! :)
I haven't really kept my promise and gone out running either so that's happening today as well! I might also go for a walk with my sister. A nice day all and all, even if it mainly consists of cleaning ;)

Andy moved in to the apartment today and he sent me a photo of my keys. Look at the flowery one! Adorable, I love it!
Friday wine
After a week of morning shifts at the hotel it was so nice to get to Fridas last night for indian food and wine. She has this amazing balcony overlooking the water!

Soooo tired today! Had a really nice night out with Mikaela yesterday and got in about midnight. Then decided it was a good idea to do a Skype call with Andy instead of sleeping...smart move!
Anyway, luckily I'm only tired and not hungover so today should be ok :)

Amazing weather!
I finished work at 3.30 and have been walking around town since. I've got a dinner date with Mikaela soon so I've had some time to kill. It's ok though since the weather is fantastic! It's not that sunny anymore but it's got to be about 25c still!
Just sitting in Observatorielunden in Vasastan now :)

Choices
An English Wedding
I got back home today, landed around 9 and had to take the bus back so I wasn't home until around noon. I was so tired so I just had to sleep for a couple of hours, hope that doesn't ruin my night sleep as I have to be up 5.30 for work tomorrow!
The weekend was just AMAZING! I arrived late Thursday night and spent the first night at Andy's. On the Friday we went to lunch and a rehearsal type thing at the bride's parents house and after that we went to check in at the hotel. Andy had all kinds of best man duties and was staying with the groom at the venue Friday night so I didn't actually see him until the wedding the next day, looking very handsome in his suit and top hat, lol yes top hat! ;)
I was originally thinking that I would be so bored at the hotel and that it might be a bit awkward at the wedding since I literally didn't know anyone! But I was introduced to the grooms family and some family friends and so I spent the Friday afternoon in the hotel lobby with them and I also went out for dinner with them later. It was so nice of them to let me join them, and so nice to meet all of them! It was such a good thing too since that way I had already met some people and had people to talk too at the wedding.
It has been such a nice experience to go to an English wedding. It was, in many ways, very similar to Swedish and Finnish weddings.
First there was the ceremony. After that we went outside to the garden for photographs and champagne. This part did feel very English as the men in the wedding party wore top hats and many women had fancy hats and everyone was mingling, drinking Pimm's and lemonade.
After that it was time for the speeches, the father of the bride, the groom and the best man gave speeches. The father of the bride even did a song (which I was told is not a traditional thing). Andy did a great job with his speech!
I think wedding speeches are a bit different in Sweden. I don't think Swedish weddings are as traditonal as English but I think that according to tradition it starts off with the father of the bride and then the father of the groom and after that other close family and the best man and also the maid of honor usually give speeches. I also think almost anyone (e.g co-workers, bosses, friends) can give speeches at swedish weddings.
After the speeches it was time for a three course meal which was amazing, I even got to try yorkshire pudding! Since Andy was the best man he was sitting at the top table. I was sitting at another table where I didn't know anyone. Everyone was so nice and outgoing though so it wasn't really a problem.
After the meal there was the cutting of the cake followed by the first dance and after that it was mainly mingling and dancing.
All in all it was such a nice day! I wish I had some photos to post but I never got any off Andys camera before I left. I'll try to post some later though!

I've had such a nice weekend in Essex and the wedding was so nice, even the weather was perfect! Sun! In England! Can you believe that? I thought it was a myth...
Heading home on a 6 o clock flight tomorrow morning, it's gonna be brutal getting up at 3 am! But unfortunately it's got to be done...

Unhappy cat
On the metro with Bella. Haha she looks happy! She will be tho, once she gets where we're going. Mom has two cats and I think she likes the company.

Busy days!
Today has been pretty busy. I went to town, bought a black shawl for the wedding utfit and a pair of black heels, not sure I'll wear them for the wedding though. After that I was working at the hotel from 3 pm to 11 pm. I got home an hour ago and have been sorting some stuff out. Now I'm going to have a glass of wine and watch an episode of Game of Thrones and hope that I can sleep after that! This me not sleeping thing is crazy! I can usually sleep whenever and wherever!
Tomorrow is even busier. I've got to leave for the airport around 4.30 pm. Before that I'm doing laundry between 10 and 2, picking up my dress from the dry cleaners, leaving Bella the cat at my moms, tidying the apartment, going to buy some accesories and return some clothes I bought and also I need to pack! And I was hoping I'd have time to get my hair cut but that might be a little overly ambitious....

Rain rain rain
Yesterday I got caught in the rain. Not taking any chances today! I'm wearing wellies and brought a huge umbrella for going shopping in town. Better safe than sorry!

What is up with the weather tho? It's been crap all summer and it's mid July!? Don't think we'll have a summer this year...

An afternoon of shopping
I went shopping for a dress today and found a few that were ok. I ended up buying a pink dress with some white and gold in it, sounds weird but it is actually really nice. Got a pair of matching light pink shoes to go with it. The thing is....pink just isn't me. I really like the dress and I love the shoes but I'm just not very comfortable in them. Every nice dress I found today was either pink or white so I had to go with that color.
I might go to town tomorrow to see if I can find something else. I've also got this dress I wore for my cousins wedding that I absolutely love, but it's got a tiny little stain on it (that I can't even see in this light), so it needs to get dry cleaned in that case. Think I'll have a look in the morning and try the pink one on again and then decide.
It's nice that I got something tho! Whatever happens, I won't have to stress about it.
Ok, time for a couple of episodes of Game of Thrones and then bed time!

Tv series junkie
I follow a lot of different tv series; Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, One tree hill, True Blood, Vampire Diaries...yeah well, you name it and I probably watch it. Not to mention all the sit coms! How I met your mother, Big bang theory, New girl, Family guy etc.
There's one that people have been talking about that I hadn't seen until tonight; Game if Thrones. After 3 episodes I have to say it seems pretty awesome!!!

Sick
I haven't been feeling well today. Couldn't sleep last night so I didn't get out of bed until 2 pm, in other words I'm still feeling the effects of the night shifts. My throat is sore and I've got a little cold. It doesn't feel like it's THAT bad though so I'm hoping I'll get better within a couple of days!
I called in sick tomorrow so I've got one more day to rest.
In spite of the fact that I haven't been feeling that well I managed to clean the apartment and now I'm making lentil stew. I feel like I'm in desperate need of healthy food! Think I'll go to the supermarket later to get some other healthy stuff too.
So as I said I'm off tomorrow, if by any chance I'm feeling better I might go dress shopping for the wedding. I really need to do it as I'm going to England on Thursday and need to have a dress by then! On Tuesday and Wednesday I've got evening shifts at the hotel. Hopefully I'll be feeling better so I can work.

Hangover day
Ok, so I might have had a bit too much sparkling wine on Frida's balcony last night. I didn't get out of bed until jus before 2 pm. I started working at 3 pm so I sort of had to, otherwise I'd probably still be in there! Don't think it was only yesterday's alcohol intake that made me sleep that long though, it's always like this after a few night shifts, it's so hard to get used to normal sleeping habits again!
I Thought I was going to have a terrible night at work but once I got there and had something to eat I was fine, and the shift went pretty fast! I'm feeling a bit ill today tho, I keep sneezing and my throat feels sore. I really hope it'll pass! I'm going to one of Andy's friend's weddings next week so really don't want to get sick.

The past year
I feel like I need to explain the past years events for anyone out there who might be curious.
In September last year I met Andy in Stockholm. We met in a bar and ended up spending a few days together as he was here on business. When he had to leave we talked about me visiting him in Milan (Andy is English but lived in Milan at the time). I think we both thought it was a bit crazy really but we did want to see each other again. After thinking about it for a few days I just thought -What the hell? You only live once, right? Plus if nothing else; It'll make a great story! Lol this is a good attitude to have about everything. Every failure and every embarrasing situation in life WILL someday make a great story.... Someday obviously being the key word here.
Well it didn't turn out to be a great story, at least in that sense. Since that trip to Milan last October we have been visiting each other about every three weeks.
So what do you do when you're in a long distance relationship trying to get to know each other with thousands of miles in between you?
Well in my case; you go to London to study.
I've still got a year of Uni left here in Stockholm and I've always thought it would be a great experience to go abroad and study for a semester. Earlier this spring Andy decided to move back to England and I decided to apply for an erasmus exhange in London. After a few weeks of waiting, an interview and a few more weeks of waiting I found out that I had been accepted!
So not only does that mean I get to go abroad and study English in an English speaking environment, it also means that Andy and I get to do this thing for real for a while. And I am so crazy happy about that! Cos let me let you guys in on a little secret; long distance relationships? They suck...

Day off!
Trying to get up out of bed. I managed to change my last three nightshifts so last night was actually my last nightshift for....ever! I hope. And I'm off today!
Should really get up soon. Tonight's plan is to go out with Frida and maybe Mikaela. No idea what we're doing yet but should be fun!

Bare with me
I'm just trying out different designs for the blog. Realized it's the perfect way to kill some time when at work ;)
Amazing bday weekend
So Andy had planned this weekend for us and it was amazing! We stayed in this "barn" in a village called Feckenham. We drove up on the Friday and arrived in the evening so we spent the night in, Andy had prepared a really nice birthday meal :)
On the Saturday we went to Stratford upon Avon to check out Shakespeare's hometown. It was such a nice place! The thing that stuck to my mind most though was the all year round christmas shop with loads of christmas ornaments! We said we'd go back there before christmas ;)
Andy had originally booked a restaurant for Saturday night but we deicided to stay in again since the place we stayed at was so nice! It would've felt lika a waste not to.
On Sunday we checked out and drove to Warwick. Another amazing town! I think I actually liked it a bit more that Stratford, maybe because it was smaller and seemed more genuine. We just walked around in the rain for a few hours. Lol sounds miserable but we actually had a very nice day!

England
Last night at Jennys was so nice, the weather was good, food and drinks were great and the company was amazing. I just love a girls night every now and then!
I'll be heading to England to visit Andy tonight. I really can't wait!! We won't be spending the weekend in London this time since Andy has planned this birthday weekend (my birthday was in June) and I'm just so excited!!! I haven't seen him for almost four weeks which feels like about a year longer than our usual three weeks in between visits.
Anyway, I probably won't be blogging that much over the weekend but I'll post some photos and write all about it next week!
Have a good weekend everyone!

Hard at work doing laundry
It's another great and sunny day in Stockholm!
Today is laundry day. And while my clothes are in the washer I'm lying out in the sun, thought I'd finish this book I'm reading. Great book btw! Think I'm going to have to read all of the Inspector Banks novels now!

After I'm done with my laundry the plan is to head to Jenny's for a 4th of July barbecue and some rose wine in the sun!

Drinks
So I went out for drinks with Frida last night. The weather was amazing and we had a couple of drinks at Debaser at Medborgarplatsen.
After that we walked down to Slussen and went to Debaser Slussen for a few more. Got lucky and got this amazing sofa to sit in, could've easily fallen asleep in that thing!

I gotta say, I know I moan a lot and complain about how cold and dark it is here most of the year. But Stockholm during the summer? Theres no better place to be <3

Great day!
Ok, think I've figured out the mobile blogging app now!
Just spent a couple of hours on the beach with Jenny and the kids. The weather is so nice but I decided not to take my bikini since the plan is to go to town and meet Frida right after the beach. Ended up regretting that choice, it was crazy hot sitting there in jeans and a shirt!
Anyway, on my way to meet Frida now. I love Stockholm when the weather is like this!

Welcome!
Ok so, I've had a blog for years and I've always been pretty good at updating it. However the last few months I haven't really been into it. There's also a lot of old stuff on that blog and I feel it's time for a fresh start!
The purpose of this blog is really the same as with the old one, I think it's a good way to document my life, sort of like a diary. Another purpose this time is that people can read about what I'm up to in London this fall :)
I need to work out how the mobile blogging works and also need to work on the design but I'm sure I'll get into it in no time!
