I'm freeee!!!!!

Handed in the article yesterday! My last uni work ever. Can't believe it. Can't believe the fact that if I passed it, I'm a teacher and I will never ever have to study again! :D

The weekend has been great (apart from the last minute stress), we had such a nice time celebrating my bday with friends at Emelies house on Saturday. We had a combined bday/welcome home party for Catrin who's moved home from Australia. Such a good night! Yesterday I went to my mum's for some more bday celebrations which was really nice too!

So, I'm off to England today! I have missed Andy so much this time!! It'll be an amazing three weeks!! And you can definitely expect more blogging now that I have more time!

Happy, happy, happy!

Today I had an oral exam that was based on the essay I wrote last week and I passed both! Didn't get amazing grades but couldn't care less considering I'm one step closer to graduating now. I've actually only got one deadline left and I'm not too stressed about that one so it should be fine! I've got a presentation tomorrow and then a week left to finish an article I've started.

I'm so proud of myself! I'm just having such a happy day now! I've only got good things to look forward to; England and Greece in June, an awesome summer job in July and August and then the big move in September!

Ok that's enough happiness, gotta start preparing for tomorrow! :)

I cannot wait!

I can't wait for these last two weeks to be over!! 14 more days of intense studying ahead but then I finally get 3 weeks off! And after that I'll be working the rest of the summer, work feels like a piece of cake after this! I mean yes, work can be stressful but at least you always have the nights off, no matter what!

This summer I'll be working at the school where I do the grading, I won't be teaching English though but SFI (Swedish for Immigrants). They don't have any classes in July and August so it'll mostly be tutoring and also grading online. I won't only be grading English during the summer, I think they said it'll be history, religion and tourism courses as well! History is my second subject so that should be fun! I haven't studied religion at uni but it's sort of related to history and I do find it interesting so that should be ok as well. I've also done a tourism course in the past and worked in hotels for many years so that should be good too! Looking forward to it!

Ok...time for more uni work!

Exhausted

I'm finally on my way home. With one book left to read and eight more pages to write I'm starting to realize I might not be able to do it.
I just emailed my teacher asking to postpone the deadline. He probably won't agree but I do think it was unfair to start with. It's just an possible number of pages to read in 10 days! Not feeling very positive right now. But I'll do my best anyway...

Tough weeks ahead

I was up bright and early this morning! I got up to do laundry at 7, I sometimes book the earliest time just so to get myself out of bed.

I've been thinking about this uni course and whether or not I should try to change it, there's this teaching course which has a later deadline that I think could do too but then I'd have to e-mail and see if I can change and waste time on waiting for a reply. So I decided to just go for it! I stayed up last night making a study plan for the next couple of weeks and I think I can do it, it wont be easy but it can be done!

Today's plan then; laundry, gym, packing for England and at least 8 hours of reading! Exciting!

Crap!

Ok so ever since I submitted the English essay (which I did very good on btw) I've sort of been chilling and only doing one full time uni course.

Last Tuesday I emailed the teacher of the history course I never did last year to ask when it starts. There's four weeks left of the term and it's a four week course so I figured it'll start around this time. Today he emailed us saying the deadline of the essay is next Friday! I don't even know what to do?! How am I supposed to read 1300 pages and write a 10 page essay before next Friday?! There's also an oral exam the week after that so you really need to know the books!

I knew something like this was coming! This term has been way too easy considering I'm studying full time + half time and working 1 day a week... :(

It's just the crappiest timing ever too cos I'm going to England Wednesday to Sunday. I haven't seen Andy for three weeks so it would be crap to have to study the whole time! But then if I don't do the course, the next time I can do it is in December, which means no graduation in June...

Formative Assessment

I'm doing this project about formative asssessment at uni. The idea is to create a sort of information booklet for the teachers at my teacher training school, the booklet will contain information and ideas of how to work with formative assessment.
So, my job is to create this booklet. I am also observing my tutor's seventh grade history classes every week, he's teaching the lessons but I get to try some formative assessment techniques and exercises so it's really good! While I'm doing this, I'm meant to be writing an article about the project for uni. I'm pretty excited about this project, it's so interesting! I'm going to start writing the booklet and the article during the weekend and I'm actually looking forward to it in some weird way?!

The lessons I'm observing are on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 to 11 or 12. Now, this is pretty much all I have scheduled for the next month or so (plus a few random seminars at uni). I have loads of writing to do though as I have an additional course that should start soon too. This all means that I have to be really diciplined!

I'm still here!

Haven't been blogging much this week, I've been crazy busy! Most of the week was spent studying for my history exam. The exam was yesterday and I hope I passed! It was just a pass/fail exam so can't hope for a higher grade than that. The test consisted of three questions and I'm pretty sure i aced the first one (industrial revolution), the second one was ok (democratization in Sweden) but the third question was one I was hoping wouldn't come on the exam (Cold war). My weak points were nationalism, Germany from the Versailles treaty to end of WW2 and the Cold War. Off course that question came up! Lol, anyway, I think I wrote an ok answer so hopefully I will have passed!

This exam was a part of a course I did almost two years ago but for different reasons I never did the exam. So if I passed it, I only have two extra essays from previous terms left. I'm so lucky that the first two courses of this semester have been fairly easy, otherwise I would never have found the time to study for old exams, write old papers AND work. I hope this next course isn't too difficult either, it at least looks as if we have loads of free time (well independent study time).

This weekend is pretty uneventful, I'm cat-sitting at my mum's. I haven't been able to do any grading work this week so I'm trying to squeeze in at least 6 hours of that today. I also have another deadline on Monday so need to work on that. Can't wait till Tuesday! I'll be inbetween courses as the next one starts wednesday and then it's Easter! Time to breathe! Well, not really. Time to go to England for yet another wedding! :) I'll leave on Wednesday night and will be back next Tuesday. It'll be great to see Andy and so much fun to go to a wedding! Can't wait!

Crappiest blogger everrrrrr

Sorry for being such a crappy blogger at the moment. I've just got too much to do! Studying for this history exam is killing me, there's just so much to read!

So you wanna know how I'm spending my Friday night? Yep, you got it: I'm reading about Hitler and the Holocaust...
Ah well, at least I'll be rewarding myself with a glass of wine and an episode of Grey's Anatomy in an hour or so! =)

Busy busy busy

I just realized that I'm way behind in my study schedule! It's just harder to have the time to study when I'm at teacher training every day. But it needs to be done so, from now on: no excuses! I've got a history exam next Friday (22/3) and another assignment due on the Monday after (25/3) and I need to work hard every day to be able to do it! I'm still going to try not to make the mistake of just sitting inside and studying. I've got to have some fun too or I'll get all isolated and crazy again.

The thing is that I think the rest of my term will be this busy. And somehow I'll have to find the time  to apply for jobs as well. I'm sure it'll be fine though! I just need to calm down and start working! 

Sleeping in

I had such a hard time getting out of bed this morning! It's difficult when you're a student and you know that you have things to do but you also know that you don't have to do anything.

Starting tomorrow I've got 7 days of teacher training which means getting up at 6 and being tired when I get back home. So I should really make the most if this day!
Anyway, I've had my porridge breakfast and it's time to get started!

Just a random post about nothing

For some reason I'm not as efficiant during weekends as I am during weekdays. No matter how hard I try to get up early, a part of me thinks "It's weekend! I shouldn't have to get up early", which is fair enough really! Today I've started studying for my history exam which is in a month. I have to start early since I've got other courses to do at the same time. It's a lot of work but it's interesting reading!

I kind of feel like doing something today but I've also realized that Andy's coming for a visit Thurs-Sun (yayyy!) next week. This means I'll lose half a weeks study time. So I'll have to keep busy until then! Mikaela's coming home tonight too so maybe we'll just have a couple of glasses of wine later.

I feel so much better today by the way! I had a good night's sleep and woke up to a sunny day! Not that I've been out much, I just went to the supermarket. But still, there's just something about sunshine!

My plan for tomorrow is more history studies, some actual work-work and maye start reading in my new ethics coursebooks. Oh, and a visit to the gym I think! I've been really good this week, it'll be the fourth time! I guess I'll have to go a few times in the beginning of next week too as Andy is coming and I don't want to be going to the gym then. I can't wait for him to come by the way!!

Isolation

I'm glad I went to uni today even if I didn't get a chance to meet up with Mia, at least it meant I got to see some people! Being a student can sometimes be lonely. Like this week I only have a seminar on Thursday and that's it! I've got a deadline on Wednesday so I'm meant to be writing an essay.
Since Mikaela isn't home this week I'm spending most of my time alone. I already started talking to myself today so I know that by Wednesday I'll be a total basket case in need of some human contact!

Normally I would go out and meet friends but I've realized that my life is a lot different now than it was before I moved to England. There are two reasons for this; first of all -money. I'm still suffering financially from my autumn term in London but should be back on my feet next week when the student money comes. But even after that I should be saving as much as I can for the summer. I have no idea when I'll find a job in England so obviously I will need money. The second reason my life is a bit more boring now is that I don't have a lot of free time. Not like before. I'm doing a full term at uni, plus three courses plus a part time job this term. Also I'm trying to work out as much as possible.

It's weird because my life sounds so boring but at the same timme I'm so happy with it! There's just a certain feeling about getting things done and being efficient! Like this day has been the most amazing day ever! I spent 8 hours at uni, came home, went to the gym, had dinner and I'm even finding time to blog now!
